What is a suitcase drum?
A vintage suitcase is used to make the Vintage Suitcase Kick- drums. We use a porthole on the opposite side of the kick drum to place mics. The kick pedal mounts are mounted to the bottom which makes them a stand for the foot drum.
What can I use as a kick drum?
It’s a good idea to hit a hollow box with a flat side. There are pads that are made for this, but they may not be as loud as a real snare drum. A similar snare practice pad would be a better match for them. It might be helpful to have something with a little more volume.
